Renesas
Courses on Renesas SoCs
Renesas covers the whole embedded range, from the RA microcontrollers built on Arm Cortex-M up to the RZ microprocessors that combine Cortex-A, Cortex-R and Cortex-M cores. Next to them, the RX family runs on Renesas's own core. Each family has its own peripherals, clock tree and boot flow.
Our Renesas training builds on what these devices share. Engineers learn the Arm Cortex-M and Cortex-A architectures used in RA and RZ, and real-time programming with FreeRTOS and Zephyr. Our security courses teach secure boot, Arm TrustZone isolation and the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act for connected products. In our AI courses, engineers learn to use coding agents for embedded development, working from datasheets and reference manuals to write, review and debug driver and application code.
Dedicated Renesas training on SoC implementation can be built on request, covering pin multiplexing, clocks, peripherals and boot flow for a given family.
Available Courses
Zephyr RTOS course: explore its ecosystem for embedded systems build system and West tool, configure Device Tree and Kconfig, create custom modules and drivers, and master GPIO, I2C, power management, memory analysis, user mode, threading, synchronization, mailboxes, Zbus, and interrupts.
It provides the global understanding of the ARMv7 and v8 Cortex-M architecture needed to efficiently program MCU based on such cores.
FreeRTOS is a lightweight, real-time operating system (RTOS) designed to efficiently manage tasks in embedded applications. The Real Time Programming with FreeRTOS course delves into the design and implementation of real-time applications using FreeRTOS. Covering essential topics such as task scheduling, synchronization, and memory management, this course equips professionals with the skills necessary to develop reliable and efficient real-time systems. Ideal for developers with a basic understanding of real-time systems and programming concepts, it provides a solid foundation in FreeRTOS development, enabling participants to design, implement, and debug robust embedded applications.
It provides the prerequisites needed to start learning the various ARMv7 A&R specific cores. It also briefly outlines the ARMv8 64bit architecture.
